SCCAOR Committees

Get Involved Today, Be the Leadership of Tomorrow

Those that volunteer for SCCAOR leadership positions receive experience, networking opportunities, and avenues to influence the direction of the Association. SCCAOR's various committees cull future leadership for our Board of Directors, who influence the real estate industry on the state and national levels. 

2008 Committees

Convention Task Force
Team Leader: Dee Cowen

The Convention committee is responsible for the coordination and implementation of Northern California's largest annual convention and trade show held in the Fall. Committee members help with all aspects of the event including recruiting exhibitors, attendees and sponsorships.


Education Committee
Team Leader: James Nichols 

The Education Committee reviews current designs and promotes educational seminars for the professional benefit of our members.


Strategic Partnerships & Diversity Alliance Committee
Team Leader: Richard Gonzales 

The goal of the Committee is to reach out to all ethnic ancillary real estate groups and encourage participation with SCCAOR, to ensure SCCAOR's core information is accessible to a variety of ethnic groups, and identify and mentor future SCCAOR leadership from all ethnic groups.


Golf Task Force 
Team Leader: Paul Grushka 

The Golf Task Force's function is to support the coordination of the annual golf tournament held in June by soliciting sponsorships, selling foursomes, promoting the event through marketing meetings, flyer-distribution, cold calls, recruiting raffle prize donations, and helping out with various duties the day of the event. 


Government Relations Committee
Chairperson: Carl San Miguel 

The Government Relations Committee (GRC) educates SCCAOR members and the public on property rights issues and other issues important to organized real estate through legislative alerts, fundraising efforts and campaign activities.GRC informs and promotes political fundraising through activities such as Political Survival, Whistle Stop Rally, and Legislative Day. GRC members are involved in candidate interview, participate in political campaigns, and help to organized REALTORS® in support of SCCAOR candidate endorsements.


Housing Opportunities Committee (HOC)
Chairperson: Tish Shaikh 

The Housing Opportunites Committee is committed to providing housing opportunities for everyone. The Housing Opportunities Committee works to creatively address the housing opps needs in Santa Clara County. The committee supports the implementation of the Affordable Housing Symposium and the Affordable Housing Fair.


Installation Task Force 
Team Leader: Darci Robinson

The Installation Task Force's goal is to work with the incoming Association President in planning and coordinating a dinner/dance event to help usher in the new SCCAOR leadership. The Committee helps select a site, develop a theme, obtain sponsors, select entertainment, sell tickets and market the event to the membership.


Membership Committee
Chairperson: Mike Sibilia 

The Membership Committee oversees the monthly New Member Orientation Programs, reviews and promotes Association-approved affinity programs and membership benefits.


Special Events Task Force
Chairperson: Lori Ojeda

The Special Events Task Force assists with planning, promoting and implementing the membership luncheons, the summer BBQ, the Holiday Luncheon, and other events.The Committee helps select event sites, develop themes, obtain sponsors, select entertainment, sell tickets and market the event to the membership.


Standing Committees: Special requirements to be appointed to these committees may consist of expertise in the field, experience in the real estate industry and/or knowledge of this Association's standards.


Arbitration and Professional Standards
Chairperson: Greg Haas 

The Arbitration and Professional Standards committee enforces the code of ethics and equal opportunities by resolving disputes between members and the general public. Three years experience on Grievance Committee is required prior to serving on the Arbitration and Professional Standards Committee


BORPAC
Chairperson: Heide Wolf-Reid 

The Board of REALTORS® Political Action Committee ensures SCCAOR's voice is heard in the political arena.


Broker Outreach Committee
Chairperson: Shaye Saldana 

The Broker Outreach Committee committee assists the Board in explaining to Broker offices the activities and functions of the Board, meeting agents and giving SCCAOR website presentations. The objective is to bring the benefits of SCCAOR membership to the agents.


Budget and Finance Committee
Chairperson: Dennis Badagliacco

The Budget and Finance committee reviews SCCAOR's budgets and ensures the financial success of the Association.


Grievance Committee
Chairperson: Nick Lymberis 

The Grievance Committee reviews ethical complaints and violations of the National Association of REALTORS® Code of Ethics. Three years experience on Grievance Committee is required prior to serving on the Arbitration and Professional Standards Committee.


Ombudsman Commitee
Chairperson: Wanda Klor 

The Ombudsman Committee acts as a ‘First Responder’ to Real Estate problems arising from members of the public or other members of the Real Estate Community. The Ombudsman committee members shall work individually and as a team in an effort to increase the ethics and professionalism of our industry and our members by taking calls from REALTOR® members, members of the public working with REALTOR® members and in some cases non-members. They will strive to help these individuals (complainant) and the party with whom they have a dispute (respondent) to resolve their dispute by using their communication skills and their knowledge of real estate ethics and practices to come up with a solution to the problem which is mutually acceptable to the parties involved.


SCC REALTOR® Foundation

The Santa Clara County REALTORS® Foundation is comprised of REALTORS® and affiliates who raise money through various real estate industry events to support non-profit housing and social benefit organizations such as the Housing Trust of SCC, Second Harvest Food Bank, InnVision and Sacred Heart Community Services. Volunteers of the Foundation are Trustees and serve a three year term.
