The Santa Clara County Association of REALTORS® (“SCCAOR”) has created this Privacy Policy to demonstrate our firm commitment to privacy and so that you, as a visitor to SCCAOR Web site, will be aware of the uses made of information that may be generated as a result of you using our Web site. SCCAOR understands that its members and users care how information is used and shared.  By visiting sccaor.com, you are accepting the practices described in this Privacy Notice.

What information is generated when you visit sccaor.com?

Information You Give Us:  We receive and store any information you enter on our Web site or give us in any other way. You can choose not to provide certain information, but then you might not be able to take advantage of many of our features. We use the information that you provide for such purposes as responding to your requests, customizing future shopping for you, and communicating with you. Unless we receive your approval to do otherwise, any personal information that you provide to us will only be used by us to fulfill the stated objective for which the information was requested or collected (e.g. if information is provided as a result of you e-mailing us, we will only use the information provided, such as e-mail address, to respond to you). SCCAOR does not sell, loan or rent member e-mail addresses. The National Association of REALTORS® and California Association of REALTORS® also each have standing policies that they will not sell, loan or rent member e-mail addresses.

For example, we may collect the name of the domain from which you access the Internet (for example, google.com, if you are connecting from a Google account); the date and time you access our site or and the Internet address of the website from which you linked directly to our site. We use this information to measure the number of visitors to the different sections of our website and to help us make our website more useful to visitors.

Find a REALTOR®, Find an Affiliate, Find a A Member

SCCAOR is a private trade association consisting of real estate professionals. As one of the many benefits of membership with SCCAOR, we make available on our website a searchable database of our members called the “Find a REALTOR®”, “Find an Affiliate”, “Find A Member”. The directory can be used by the public to locate and contact our members by such characteristics as name, company, city location or languages spoken.

The member information made available through the REALTOR® Directory is intended to contain only the business information of our members. Under no circumstances will we intentionally display or make available on our website the personal home addresses or phone numbers of our members.

Links to Other Sites

In many areas of our website, we have included links to other Internet sites which we feel add to or improve the quality of our website. While we hope you find these links helpful, we cannot assume responsibility for the privacy practices or the content of any linked site. Therefore, we encourage you to investigate and determine the privacy policy and practices of any linked site prior to providing information to the linked site.

Surveys

We may from time to time create and use surveys on our website. Most surveys are simple “click box” surveys where you click a box on the screen to indicate your response. However, we may from time to time ask you for your name, email address or demographic information. If a survey does ask you this information, we will use the information to complete the survey, compile statistics and update member records.

Contests

We may from time to time run contests on our website. If our contests require you to provide personal or demographic information, we will use this information primarily to complete the contest and update member records.

Forums

From time to time a discussion forum, bulletin board, blog, chat area, news group, community, or other feature designed so that Users may upload data and images or communicate with others (“Forum”) may be made available to Users on this Site. SCCAOR, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to review, control or edit any text, data, images, files, or other materials that may be uploaded, posted or submitted in any Forum (“Submissions”) as well as the right to refuse to post any such Submission.
